Document Glass
The document glass is used for a single page or bound document of 297 mm for width
and 431.8 mm for length.
If you have more than one stack of documents to scan, select [Next] while the current
stack of documents is being scanned. This allows you to copy multiple or mixed size
documents as one set of data. Also you can change the copy settings for each page.
1.
Raise the document feeder or the
document glass cover.
2.
Place the document face down on the
document glass, aligned with the tip of
the registration arrow near the top left of
the document glass.
3.
Lower the document feeder or the
document glass cover.
Document Feeder Glass
The document feeder glass is the narrow strip of glass located at the left-hand side of
the document glass. When documents are fed from the document feeder, they pass
over the document feeder glass to scan the images into memory automatically. The
document feeder glass is not used when documents are placed on the document glass.
CAUTION
Do not apply excessive force to hold thick document on the platen glass. It may break
the glass and cause injuries.
