12 Appendix
228
• Paper from Tray 5 (bypass tray) cannot be used when a received fax document or
a report/list is being printed out.
Posting Messages to the Bulletin Board and Retrieving Messages
• Remote posting (posting to another fax machine) will post all correctly transmitted
pages even if an error occurs, but with local posting (posting to the machine), an
error during storage of the document causes all pages to be discarded, even if some
have already been stored.
• When documents are retrieved from another fax machine, the connection will not be
redialed even if there is an error during document transmission, but the machine will
redial and re-send the document if the error occurs while it is posting a document to
another machine.
Forwarding Fax Transmission Settings to the System Administrator
• If a specified transfer recipient is deleted or changed to an e-mail address, it causes
a communications error.
• Even if you set the document to be forwarded to the System Administrator, it will not
be forwarded if the forwarding recipient has not been specified.
• If the document concerned has a specified number of copies for transmission, is
specified for priority transmission or is specified to enable [Recipient Name], these
are disabled when the document is forwarded to the System Administrator.
• If a transmission error occurs during transmission of an applicable document,
resulting in interrupted transmission, all pages are forwarded to the System
Administrator, regardless of whether each page was fully transmitted or not.
• If the applicable document has multiple recipients (fax broadcasting), it will be
forwarded to the System Administrator if transmission is interrupted before
transmission to all recipients is completed.
• The following types of document are not subject to forwarding to the System
Administrator.
– Polling transmissions
– Direct Send
– Manual transmissions
– Posts to the bulletin board
– E-mail transmissions
– Direct Fax transmissions
Registered Data such as Forms
Registered data such as forms are stored in volatile memory. Therefore, the data will
be lost if the power supply to the machine is interrupted.
