Use the

∨
soft keys to highlight TEST PARAMETER . Press the soft key below
MODIFY until the breath parameter you wish to test is displayed. The most recent
measurement of the selected parameter will be displayed as the CURRENT VALUE .
Use the
∧
and
∨
soft keys to highlight % LIMIT . Press the soft key below MODIFY, then
use the numeric keys to enter the percent change that will be considered a deviation from
acceptable limits. Percent values range from 1 to 99. Remember to enter leading zeros
for values less than 10. For example, 5% would be entered as 05%. Press the soft key
below
ENTER after the percent value has been keyed in.
Use the
∧
and
∨
soft keys to highlight USE PRINTER . Press the soft key below
MODIFY. If YES is selected for printer, a report of all the breath parameters with
time/date stamp will print every time an incident occurs.
Before starting the test, ensure that the ventilator is on and that steady-state conditions are
reached. Monitor the
CURRENT VALUE displayed to ensure that the breath parameter
is as expected. Press START to begin testing.
The trend test screen is displayed while the trend test is in progress. The trend test screen
shows the parameter being tested, the starting and current values, and the % difference
between the two values. The allowable % deviation limit, the number of tests taken, and
the number of breaths (incidents) in which the limit has been exceeded is also displayed.
An example of the test report printout is shown on the next page.
