Operators Manual

The monitor should display the instantaneous flow rate in large numbers in the upper 
right portion of the screen.

 

The flow statistics (min., max and average) are shown below 

in the center right portion of the screen.

 

 A subset of the breath parameters is shown 

below the flow plot.

 

The following are adjustments you can make to the screen: 

Press the soft key below 

RANGE to switch between the high- and low-flow ports. 

Press the soft key below UNITS to change the measurement units (i.e. LPM, CFM, LPS, etc.) 

Press the soft key below RESCALE to change the plot scaling. The new scaling will be based 
upon the minimum and maximum values shown in the statistics area. 

Press the soft key below CLEAR to erase the plot and re-initialize the statistics and breath 
parameters. 

For more information in any screen, press the HELP key. 

Press PAUSE/RESUME key to pause the screen; Press the key again to resume the plot.

 for a more detailed description of the various screens 

and modes. 

3. 

Attaching the Printer Cable 

The printer is set up for parallel printing. The printer uses a D25 Male to Centronics 
parallel cable, available from a Fluke Biomedical representative (Fluke Biomedical P/N 
2238072) or from most electronic supply outlets. To attach the parallel cable: 

a.

 

Connect the 36-pin end for the Centronics type parallel cable to the printer’s parallel 
input connector. 

b.

 

Attach the 25-pin male end of the parallel cable to the 25-pin connector on the back 
of the 

VT PLUS HF

. 

Chapter 4, System Setup provides a more detailed description of the various printers.
