Note:
Only dry gases should be used with the
VT PLUS HF
.
Do not use with heated humidified gases.
The Relative Humidity setting is only used for STPD and BTPS
corrections. The relative humidity is not used in calculating the effective
viscosity on the
VT PLUS HF;
however, the gas calculator in the
VT Plus
PC Software
DOES
use relative humidity in determining the effective viscosity of
user-defined gases.
Using humidified gases at room temperature may cause flow
measurement errors of up to 1% of reading for near-saturated, non-
condensing gases.
Correction Mode
This setting calculates the flow volume of the air flowing through the high- or low-flow
ports. This should match the correction mode of the device under test.
To change correction mode, follow these steps:
1.
Enter the settings screen from the setup menu.
2.
Use the
∧
and/or
∨
soft key to highlight
CORRECTION MODE
.
3.
Press the
MODIFY
soft key until the desired option is displayed.
4.
Press the
BACK
soft key to exit to the setup menu.
Barometric Pressure Units
These settings represent the various units available to measure barometric pressure such
as mmHg.
To change the barometric pressure units, follow these steps:
1.
Enter the settings screen from the setup menu.
2.
Use the
∧
and/or
∨
soft key to highlight
BARO PRESS UNITS.
3.
Press the
MODIFY
soft key until the desired option is displayed.
4.
Press the
BACK
soft key to exit to the setup menu.
Barometric Pressure
The
VT PLUS HF
constantly measures the barometric pressure. It is displayed on the
FULL TEST screen. This setting allows the user to fine-tune the barometric pressure
measurement. The difference between the value measured by the
VT PLUS HF
and the
entered value will be applied to future
VT PLUS HF
measurements as a correction factor.
The correction is applied as an offset correction. The correction factor is stored in non-
volatile memory and is remembered when the
VT PLUS HF
is turned off then back on.
