4. fill reservoir with correct lube oil (see OPERATING SPECIFICATIONS).
6.3 TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
Normal hand tools are required for all maintenance on this equipment. Additional equipment required
for specific areas of maintenance are described below.
6.3.1 COUPLING
1. a welding torch with a Rosebud head and
2. a puller capable of handling a hot half-coupling.
6.3.2 BEARINGS
1. a hoist and related hoisting equipment,
2. nylon lifting straps, soft cables, or equivalent.
6.3.3 HEAD
1. the assembly carriage (optional),
2. steel wedge(s),
3. jack screws,
4. a hoist, block and tackle, or chain fall,
5. a lifting-eye, and,
6. nylon lifting straps, soft cables, or equivalent.
6.3.4 INTERNAL ASSEMBLY
In addition to hand tools, the following tools and equipment are required to perform the assembly and
disassembly tasks that are in this subsection:
1. a hoist and related hoisting equipment,
2. nylon lifting straps, soft cables, or equivalent,
3. assembly skid, removal and installation carriage, or equivalent,
4. For horizontal disassembly, a U-shaped assembly channel of suitable size and shape to accept
internal assembly with wooden blocks at each end which are long enough to support shaft to
take weight of rotor off of bushings,
5. 2 roll-and-heel bars (see ROLL-AND-HEEL BARS figure),
6. pyrometer,
