Attention! The screws which fix the trimming knife to the front step has a left spindle, that for the back step
with a right spindle. Clean all dismantled items before reassembly.
8.6.3 Changing tools
To substitute the blades it is necessary to position the
main switch on OFF, disconnect the compressed air and
open the rear door.
Push the jack unit by hand to the back. Remove the
exhaust hose by unscrewing the two fastening screws and
releasing the clamp. Put on protective gloves, block the
motor shaft using a 13mm key, unscrew the fastening
screws of the jack knife with a spanner. Remove the
jack knife then sharpen or replace. Remount the new or
sharpened jack knife onto the motor shaft.
8.6.4 Maintenance work
Check constantly (even a few times per day) the end trim
unit and take away any pieces of trimmed edges which
could bother functions or movements. Remove all glue
residue from the blades and copying pads.
Use products which will dissolve the glue from the knife.
Wait 5/10 minutes and switch the jack motor off, which
enables the glue to be loosened from the jack knife.
When cleaning the jack knife, never use steel tools such
as screwdrivers or spanners. Lubricate the carriages once
a month using a lubricating ball and nipple.
8.7 Flush trimming
Following scale is to be respected when choosing cutters:
• Diameter allowed max 85 mm
• Spindle diameter 16 mm with key
• Maximum width of the milling cutter 20 mm
• Maximum weight for each cutter 250 gr
• Maximum number of 12.000 rpm.
