Removing the Chassis
To remove the BlackDiamond 6800 series chassis from a rack, you need the following tools, equipment,
and resources:
•
Helper bracket (shipped originally with the chassis)
•
A minimum of four appropriate screws to secure the helper bracket (not provided)
•
# 1 Phillips screwdriver
•
A minimum of two people to help remove the chassis from the rack
To remove the chassis from a rack:

Unplug the power cable from the outlet and then from the switch before you attempt to remove the
chassis components and the chassis from the rack.

Mount the helper bracket in the rack directly beneath the chassis using four screws that are
appropriate for your rack.

To reduce weight and prevent possible equipment damage, use a # 1 Phillips screwdriver to remove
the:
•
Power supply
•
MSM(s)
•
I/O module(s)

Unscrew the chassis from the rack.

Have a minimum of two people carefully remove the chassis from the rack and place it on a secure,
flat surface.

Unscrew the helper bracket and remove it from the rack.
