Allow the fan blades to stop spinning before you remove the fan tray from its slot.
WARNING!
Keep your hands away from rotating fan blades.

Support the fan tray with one hand under the fan tray and use the other hand to pull the fan tray
from its slot.

Immediately install a replacement fan tray, as described in “Installing the Alpine 3808 or Alpine 3804
Fan Tray” on page 211.
Leave the ESD strap permanently connected to the chassis so that it is always available when you need
to handle ESD-sensitive components.
