3.1 Overview
This chapter describes how to troubleshoot problems. It consists of the sections shown
in the flowchart below. When identifying and troubleshooting problems, be sure to
proceed to the correct section specified in the flowchart.

Following sections show detailed information on each step in the flowchart. Be sure to
perform troubleshooting without neglecting the correct order specified in each section.
W A R N I N G
Be careful to avoid electric shocks when checking the electrical
circuit boards (C456 MAIN, PSE/PSE, and PNL circuit boards)
while the power is turned on.
When touching parts such as the FETs or the surface of the heat
sink on the transistor with one hand, never touch other metallic
parts of the mechanism with your other hand, as the chance of
receiving an electric shock at such times is extremely high.

P O I N T
Disassembly and reassembly of parts is often required when
identifying the causes of problems. The parts should be
disassembled and re-assembled correctly while referring to
"Chapter 4 Disassembly and Assembly" so that the operation and
status of each check item can be correctly verified.
Some individual part and units may require adjustment once they
are removed or replaced. If removing or replacing parts which
have specific instructions for adjustment included in "Chapter 4
Disassembly and Assembly", be sure to make these adjustments
after repairing the problem location.
