16. After sliding the carriage guide shaft temporarily to the left together with the
carriage unit, pull the carriage guide shaft to the right to remove it.
17. Remove the carriage guide shafts from the carriage unit.
C A U T I O N
When removing the carriage guide shaft, be careful not to lose the
U-type washer and the support plate that are fitted onto the right
shaft.

When inserting the right the carriage guide shaft into the printer
mechanism, set it as shown in Figure 4-44 before inserting it.

When installing the carriage guide shaft plates onto the carriage
guide shafts that have been inserted at left and right, they must
be hooked onto the dowels on the printer mechanism.

C A U T I O N
Be careful not to lose the oil pads that are attached to the base at
the rear of the carriage unit when removing the carriage guide
shafts.

The following adjustments must be carried out after the carriage
unit or the carriage guide shafts have been removed or replaced.
1. Platen Gap Adjustment
(1’. Head ID Input)
2. Head Angular Adjustment
3. Bi-D Adjustment
Furthermore, if the printhead was replaced at the same time, the
head ID entry procedure in brackets above must also be carried
out in the appropriate sequence.
