Creating an overlay
To create an overlay, follow these steps:
1. From the Driver Settings window, click the
Overlays
button.
2. Click the
Manage Overlays
button. Then the Overlay
Manager window appears.
3. Make sure the Create menu is selected, then input a name for
the overlay you want to define in the Description box.
4. Click
Create
.
5. If you are using the Overlay Manager or Softtray Manager
for the first time, a dialog box appears showing you the
name of the default overlay directory. Click
OK
to save
your overlay in the default directory.
If you want to store your overlay in a different directory, click
Cancel
and then input the entire path to the directory in
the Description box. Make sure the
Capture Printout
radio
button is checked. Next, click
Create
.
6. In the dialog box that appears, click
OK
. The next file you
send to the printer from an application program, such as
Windows Write or Notepad, will be saved as the overlay
using the name you entered earlier. If you want to stop the
procedure, click
Cancel
.
7. Exit the printer driver and open the application that you will
use to create the overlay.
8. Print the file that you want to save as the overlay. It is
possible to save any kind of file as an overlay. When
printing starts, a message appears telling you the overlay
was programmed successfully.
