Cleaning the Printer
The printer needs only minimal cleaning. If you notice a
decline in print quality, clean the glass lens and the inside of
the printer, as described in this section.
You should also clean the paper feeder and the printer cover
every few months. These procedures are described later in this
section.
Follow the steps below to clean the inside of the printer and the
paper feeder:
1. Make sure the printer is turned off.
2. Open the printer cover.

Warning:
Opening the printer exposes the fuser, which is marked by a
caution label. If you have used the printer recently, the fuser
may be hot; be careful not to touch it. Let the printer cool
before you clean the inside.
3. Remove the imaging cartridge from the printer.
4. Remove any dirt with a soft cloth.
