Serial Interface
The printer’s resident serial interface can be set for either RS-232C or
current loop operation. This interface has the following characteristics:
Data format
Word length:
7 or 8 bits
Parity:
None, odd, or even
Stop bits:
1 or 2
Printer ready protocol:
Enabled (XON/XOFF protocol set to ON)
You can set the data format using options and menu items in the
SelecType mode.
Baud rate (bits per second):
300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200,
38400, 57600
Note:
When using the serial interface as RS-232C, the availability of baud rates over
38400 depends on your computer’s hardware reliability (including the interface
cable). When using the serial interface as Current loop, the availability of baud
rates over 2400 depends on your computer’s hardware reliability (including the
interface cable). EPSON does not recommend or guarantee the use of any
particular brand of computer.
