Figure 8.4.1 Secondary Sensor - S6
After choosing desired range and sensor positioning, if necessary program [
.!X!
]=32 for
Compensation (Regulation) and Monitoring. In this mode, Current can be programmed only
in [kA].
Monitoring mode [
.!X!
] = 33 has following exceptions:
CURRENT
- current is only in [%] from 0000 (0 %) to 0099 (99%);
7!U!
-
Low
current limit window in [kA] from 00.00 (0 kA) to 99.99 (99.99 kA);
3!O!
-
High
current limit window in [kA] from 00.00 (0 kA) to 99.99 (99.99 kA).
8.4 CONSTANT CURRENT OPERATION WITH ROGOWSKI COIL
The EN1001 Control in constant current mode with a secondary Rogowski Coil as current
sensor, Figure 8.4.1, allows two modes of operation: Auto Range Selection, and Manual
Range Selection. The simplest and quickest to use is manual range selection.
8.4.1 AUTO RANGE SELECTION
In this mode, a learning type setup is required, as described in Section 8.1.3. This mode
should be used
only
when the secondary current range is not known. This is similar mode
to constant current with primary sensing or secondary sensing with Hall Effect sensor.
1. Put the control in PROGRAM Mode.
2. Click SELECT until the DATA display shows [
01
].
3. Click the left SCHEDULE push-button until the
SCHEDULE display shows [
.!X!
].
4. Use the DATA and ENTER push-buttons to program:
[
.!X!
] = 30, for Regulation and Monitoring, or
[
.!X!
] = 31, for Monitoring only.
5. Click the left SCHEDULE push-button until the
SCHEDULE display shows [
X!,!
].
6. Use the DATA and ENTER push-buttons to program:
[
X!,!
] = 00.99, for program and display current in [%],
or
[
X!,!
] =
xx.xx
, for program and display current in [kA].
Where
xx.xx
might be any number, except 00.99.
7. Follow instructions in Section 8.1.3 for setting up current regulator.
After programming [
.!X!
] and [
X!,!
] Extended Functions parameters, Control is ready for
Setup Procedure. This procedure is the same as setup procedure for EN1001 Controls with
current transformer and Hall effect current sensors. The only difference is that after setup
is performed in this way in [kA] mode, the parameter [
X!,!
] will hold approximately the
maximum RMS current in [kA] for the used Transformer TAP.
