5.6.5.28. SNMP Settings
The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is used to manage
information between the Network Management Stations (NMS) and the
agents in the Network Elements (NE).
Information that can be accessed by the NMS is defined in a Management
Information Base (MIB). An agent may implement many MIBs, the System
Manager CIP supports the proprietary MIB called ENP-POWER-MIB and
the standard MIB-II (RFC1213) as well as the SNMP Version 1 (SNMPv1).
To download the ENP-POWER-MIB, go to the web page of Emerson
Network Power’ web site at
http://www.emersonnetworkpower.com/energysystems/support-software.asp
and follow the instructions.
All System Manager CIP activated alarms will initiate an alarm trap. Three
alarm trap addresses can be assigned. The following alarm information is
provided:
•
Alarm trap No.
•
Alarm Time
•
Alarm Status Change (activated or de-activated)
•
Alarm Severity
•
Alarm Description
•
Alarm Type (alarm number in System Manager CIP)
The following information can be polled from the System Manager CIP:
•
System Status – provides highest alarm state
•
System Voltage – provides system voltage in mV including sign
•
System current – provides systems current in mV including sign
•
System Capacity – provides % of total rectifier capacity being used
The SNMP settings feature is used to set the trap addresses required for the
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) communications.
