3.7.3 Checking the redundancy diagnostic at startup
At startup, an automatic diagnostic of the redundancy chipset is performed. During normal
startup of a master unit, the onscreen messages that appear in the redundancy monitoring
system section should look like this:

CU4>
During normal startup of a backup unit, you should see the same messages in the startup
screen except for the redundancy monitoring system messages, which should read:
Redundancy monitoring system: OK
Secondary Unit - Present: YES
- Status: OK
Current Unit - Configuration: BACKUP
- Operating mode: BACKUP
The onscreen messages indicate whether the redundancy monitoring system is working
properly (OK or Warning). If a secondary unit is detected (Present: YES), then its status will
be shown. The screen also shows the configuration of the current unit (Master or Backup)
and indicates if it is presently the master or the backup unit (Operating mode).
If an error occurred causing the two units to switch roles, then the configuration and the
operating mode will be different. For example, the unit may be configured as a backup unit,
but its operating mode would be master if the redundancy chipset caused it to change roles.
The redundancy monitoring system shows whether there is a problem with the redundancy
system by displaying a message on screen. If the units do not start up in their usual operating
mode, then the units will automatically switch roles. A warning message will appear each
