2. To check the additional RAM (expansion board or additional memory installed on the
motherboard), type
chkram 1
and press <Enter>. This command is only used when
additional RAM is installed. The results will be similar to the Control Unit’s RAM test
results, except for the number of bytes that are processed. Make sure that the amount of
RAM corresponds to the capacity of the additional RAM (e.g. 1 MB).
5.6 Resetting the Control Unit
The
reset
command causes a software reset. This command does not affect the subscriber
statuses or the configuration of the Control Unit. This command is the equivalent of a warm
reboot or a <Ctrl+Alt+Del> command in Windows. However, if you want to reset the
redundancy circuitry, you must turn off the units and then turn them back on (see procedure
in Chapter 6).
To reset the Control Unit:
1. Start a session with a terminal and log on with your password (see Chapter 3).
2. At the CU4> prompt, type the command
reset
and press <Enter>. The system requires
a certain delay to restart, and then displays the information screen.
