Communication protocol
For more information on the communication protocols, see section 3.2 on page 3-2. Once
you have selected a protocol, you must also choose a flavor from the Flavor menu to
complete the protocol. See the following section on flavors.
To modify the communication protocol:
1. At the COM) prompt, type

and press <Enter>. This will display the Protocol options
and the current port settings.

2. Type the number (1 to 5) that corresponds to the desired protocol and press <Enter>.
Note that many protocols such as ICOR are compatible with both OBP and multi-tier
systems. However, some protocols are compatible only with OBP systems, or only with
multi-tier systems. Choose the protocol according to your system.

When a protocol is not compatible with a multi-tier system, an error message indicates that
the protocol is not supported. If the change is successful, the new values are displayed to
confirm the modification.
