The cascade can be controlled in two ways:
Variant A:
Control of the cascade by the VS 3010 BS, page 53
Variant B:
Control of the cascade by a case controller, page 60
4.6.1 Control of the cascade by the VS 3010 BS
If required the pack controller can be used to control a cascade compressor pack. The available functions for
this are described in the following chapters.
The cascade regulation function cannot be used at the same time as the discharge gas defrosting
function. When discharge gas defrosting is activated via DIP switch 4, the functions and parameters
of cascade regulation are deactivated.
Cascade regulation includes the following basic functions:
Cascade temperature control
Cascade superheat regulation
Monitoring functions
The following inputs and outputs or signals are used by the pack controller for cascade regulation:
Cascade temperature control:
Pressure transducer for recording the condensation pressure Z2 (HP-Z2 / pc-Z2 / tc-Z2)
Alternatively: Temperature sensor R4.1 for recording the hot gas temperature Z2
Cascade superheat regulation:
Pressure transducer for recording the suction gas pressure Z1 (LP-Z1 / / p0-Z1 / t0-Z1)
Alternatively: Temperature sensor R5.1 for recording the cascade inlet temperature
Temperature sensor R6.1 for recording the cascade outlet temperature
Cascade controller control variable output (temperature control / superheat regulation):
Relay output for enabling the continuous valve V1 for the output of the opening degree
In addition for tandem operation:
Relay output for enabling the continuous valve V2 for the output of the opening degree
Output of the opening degree calculated by the cascade controller at analogue output 4 (terminals 63
/64)
