9. Install the positioner spring.
11. Certify that the 1st / 2nd gear shift rail is properly
positioned by the balls and maintain it in this position.
Push the interlock balls into their housing with a pin
punch through the hole on the 3rd / 4th gear shift rail.
12. Install the 3rd / 4th gear shift rail, ensuring that the
notches on its end are properly facing the positioner
(plug) and interlock balls. Push the rail while gradually
removing the pin punch, until the interlock ball snaps to
the notch on the rail.
10. Install the positioner plug and tighten it to a torque of
19 – 26 N.m (14 – 19 lb.ft).
NOTE: Apply thread-locker Loctite 262 in the plug
thread.
