17. In the hole connecting the 5th / 6th gear shift rail to the
reverse gear shift rail, install one 7.9 mm diameter ball,
a spring, one 7.9 mm diameter ball and another spring,
in this order.
NOTE: Use grease to keep the balls in their housings.
18. After installing the spring, insert the third 7.9 mm
diameter ball. Using a pin punch through the hole on the
5th / 6th gear shift rail, push and press the ball inside its
housing, holding it pressed as much as possible.
19. Install the 5th / 6th gear shift rail while gradually removing
the pin punch, assuring that the notches on the end of
the rail are properly aligned with the two balls. Push the
rail until the ball snaps to the notch on the rail.
