CARICA DELLA BATTERIA
(fig. 41)
veicolo.
Staccate la tubazione di sfiato (2).
Staccate
sempre
per primo il terminale negativo
nero
(A) poi quello positivo
red
(B).
Rimuovete la batteria dal supporto.
Attenzione
Togliete i cappucci (1) dalle celle e collegate i
conduttori del caricabatterie ai terminali (
Rosso
al
po,
Nero
al negativo –).
Importante
Collegate la batteria al caricabatteria prima
di accenderlo. Questa pratica evita la formazione
di scintille in corrispondenza dei terminali della
batteria, che potrebbero incendiare i gas
contenuti nelle celle. Collegate
sempre
per
primo il terminale positivo
Rosso
(B).
dell’elettrolito in ogni cella. Se il livello si è
abbassato, aggiungete acqua distillata per
CHARGING THE BATTERY
(fig. 41)
Before charging the battery, it is best to remove
it from the motorcycle as accidental electrolyte
spills would corrode the frame or other parts of
the motorcycle.
Disconnect the breather tube (2).
Always
disconnect the
black
negative terminal
(A) first, and then the
red
positive terminal (B).
Take the battery out of its mount.
Warning
Batteries develop explosive gases: keep
them away from heat sources and flames.
Charge the battery in a ventilated room.
Always wear protective goggles and gloves
when working near the battery.
Check the electrolyte level in each cell. If level is
low in any of the cells, top up to just a little
above minimum line. Note that level should not
exceed the maximum line, as it will rise during
charging.
Remove the caps (1) from all cells, and connect
the battery charger leads to the battery terminals
(
red
to positive te,
black
to negative
terminal –).
Important
Make sure the charger is off when you
connect the battery to it, or you might get sparks
at the battery terminals that could ignite the
gases inside the cells.
Always
connect the
red
positive terminal (B) first.
Charge the battery at 1.5 A.
When battery is charged, check electrolyte level.
If it has dropped, top up with distilled water until
reaching the upper level.
CHARGE DE LA BATTERIE
(fig. 41)
toujours
la borne négative
noire
(A)
en premier et celle positive
rouge
(B) par la
suite.
Enlevez la batterie de son support.
Attention
Reliez
toujour
la borne positive
Rouge
(B) en premier.
