CONTROLLO LIVELLO ELETTROLITO
NELLA BATTERIA
(fig. 40)
medico immediatamente.
L’elettrolito è velenoso: in caso di ingestione
bevete grandi qualità di latte o acqua. Dopo il
latte, prendete magnesia, uova sbattute o olio
vegetale e chiamate subito un medico.
Usate sempre un abbigliamento protettivo
CHECKING BATTERY ELECTROLYTE
LEVEL
(fig. 40)
Electrolyte level must be maintained between
the maximum
UPPER LEVEL
and minimum
LOWER LEVEL
marks on battery front. If
electrolyte level is too low, remove the caps (1)
and top up carefully with distilled water up to the
upper level line, using a small syringe or a plastic
funnel.
Add only distilled water to the battery.
Tap water may shorten battery life.
When adding distilled water, make sure the
breather tube (2) is connected to battery breather
outlet. The breather tube must be so placed that
it does not kink or twist.
Important
A kinked or twisted breather tube may
lead to overpressure and damage the battery.
Warning
The battery contains sulphuric acid
(electrolyte).
Avoid contact with skin and eyes as it may cause
severe burns.
If you spill some electrolyte on your skin, wash
the affected area with abundant water.
If some electrolyte gets into your eyes, wash
with running water for at least 15 minutes and
seek medical advice without delay.
Electrolyte is poisonous: if you swallow it
accidentally, drink abundant milk or water. After
drinking milk, take magnesia, scrambled eggs or
drink vegetable oil and seek medical advice
without delay.
Always wear adequate protective clothing and a
visor when handling electrolyte.
CONTROLE NIVEAU ELECTROLYTE
BATTERIE
(fig. 40)
