It is recommended that you do not plug the DR500 into a switched AC
outlet found on an audio amplifier as the AC power will be terminated
when the amplifier is turned off.
Turning the DR500 ON and OFF
To turn the DR500 ON, press the power selector once on either the
DR500 front panel or remote control. The front panel displays the
selected channel.
To turn the DR500 OFF, press the power selector once on either the
DR500 front panel or remote control. A small green decimal point light will
appear on the front panel indicating that the DR500 is off but is still
plugged in to an unswitched (on) AC outlet and able to receive any
programming updates, authorization commands, or information from the
DMX MUSIC/DBS National Authorization Control Center.
Basic Operational Information
The DR500’s normal mode is to display the currently tuned channel while
waiting for input from the front panel or remote control.
Many of the DR500 advanced features are selected by pressing the
PRESET
key followed immediately by your numeric selection. For a
listing of all preset commands, refer to the
DR500 Reference Sheet
.
Generally, DR500 functions have a 5- to 10-second wait time, or
time out
.
If no keys are pressed during the time out, the DR500 returns to its
normal mode of operation. For example, there is a 10-second wait time
from pressing
PRESET
to entering your numeric selection. If no input is
received within 10 seconds, the DR500 returns to its normal mode of
operation with the current channel displayed on its front panel.
Most DR500 selections that are made using the remote control keys can
also be made using the front panel
TUNE
? and
TUNE
? buttons. The
front panel buttons cycle through each available option. For example, you
can select a channel or input a dynamic range using either the remote
control or the front panel
TUNE
? and
TUNE
? ?
buttons.
