Starting up the DR500
After all DBS installation procedures have been performed and all
connections have been made between the DR500, satellite dish, and the
stereo unit, you are ready to begin the startup procedures.
1. Plug the DR500 into an active (on) AC power source. The power
source light (a small green LED light) appears on the front display
indicating the DR500 is receiving power and able to receive any
programming updates, authorization commands, or information
from the DMX MUSIC/DBS National Authorization Control Center.
2. Turn on the DR500. After a 10- to 15-second delay, the following
occurs:
— DR500 tunes to a channel
— The authorized indicator is off (not lit), denoting that you are
unauthorized to receive any channels
— he sync indicator is lit, denoting that the satellite dish
antenna is correctly set up and receiving the satellite signal
— The channel flashes on the front panel display (indicating
mute)
— There is no audio
3. Call the DMX MUSIC/DBS National Authorization Control Center
at 1 (800) 700-4412 and inform them that you are ready to receive
your service. They will send you all authorized channels.
4. Tune to an authorized channel. When the DR500 receives the
satellite signal, the following occurs:
— The authorized indicator is lit green
—
Music begins playing
Once the DR500 is connected, turned on, and receiving the satellite
signal, it should remain plugged in to an unswitched (on) AC outlet so
that it can receive any programming updates, authorization
commands, or information from the DMX
MUSIC/DBS National Authorization Control Center.
If the DR500 will not be used for extended periods of time, it should
be turned off using the front panel power switch only. It should not be
unplugged nor have its AC power turned OFF.
