29.2 Fault finding table
FAULT REMEDY
1. Engine does not start, none of the signal lights is illuminated.
Key switch Q1 or mains switch BMS is
switched off. Turn on the switches.
Fuse F1 blown. Fuse in the control centre LCB has blown,
replace the fuse.
Battery is exhausted. Recharge battery; replace it as required.
Main battery fuse FG has blown. Fuse next to the battery has blown, replace
the fuse.
2. Engine does not start, signal lights are operational.
Emergency stop button is stuck. Lift the button and start the engine.
Overload control for the platform; alarms
also by signal light and buzzer. Remove excess load from the platform.
Battery is almost flat. Recharge the battery.
Fuse F3 or F5 has blown. Fuses are in the control centre LCB, replace
the fuse.
Limit switch RK7 for retraction of boom
extensions has disconnected the contactor
circuit. Check the operation of the RK7 and
readjust. (See point “Regular
servicing”/”Checking the extending and
retracting chains of the boom for tightness”).
The safety relay SR4 is not automatically
reset With reference to electric diagrams, check
the operation of the safety relay.
3. Engine cranks but does not start.
Fuel tank is empty. Fill the fuel tank.
Glowing neglected. Allow the automatic glowing system to
operate before starting.
Fuse F2 blown. Fuse is in the control centre LCB, replace
the fuse.
Water in the fuel system. Drain water from the water trap and clean
the fuel system.
Fuel filters blocked. Replace fuel filters.
4. The engine starts but stops after a while
Low oil pressure – signal light Engine
overheated – signal light Check the engine oil level.
Allow to cool down, check the cooler and
ensure the circulation of the cooling air.
If the fault is not remedied, contact the
service provider.
