28.3 ANNUAL INSPECTION (REGULAR INSPECTION)
This inspection shall be performed by a skilled technician or an expert inspection
body with documented evidence of competence (see point “Inspections”). In the
inspection special attention has to be paid to the condition of the steel structures,
the safety devices and the operating system.
The inspection incorporates the following measures and checks:
Cleaning the lift
Clean the lift thoroughly before the service.
It is important that the hydraulic or electric components will not be opened, if they are
dirty.
Any contaminants in the system may cause malfunctions later on.
For washing externally shall be used water and suitable solvent detergent.
o
NOTE
Be careful not to direct the high pressure water jet straight to the electric
appliances, such as the control panels on the platform and on the chassis,
relays, solenoid valves or limit switches.
o
NOTE
Do not use too effective solvents.
o
NOTE
Make sure that the washing water does not harm the environment.
For example, dry the electric or hydraulic components that you intend to open by
blowing compressed air over them.
Apply appropriate moisture repellent to the electric appliances after the drying.
The piston rods must always be protected with CRC3-36* anti-corrosive agent after
washing with a solvent (*or equivalent).
28.3.1 Perform the measures of the daily and monthly inspection
See point “Daily inspection” (also called “Start-up inspection”).
See point “Monthly inspection” (also called “Maintenance inspection”).
28.3.2 thoroughly inspect the hydraulic system
Power unit
Connect the pressure gauge to the measuring point in the hydraulic system (see
point “Measuring the pressure”).
Make the oil flow through the relief valve by driving one of the movements against
the end stop.
Read the pressure in the gauge; when the oil is warm, the pressure should be
21±0,5 MPa (210±50 bar)
Load-holding check-valve of the lift cylinder
Operating from the lower control panel (LCB), lift the boom to an angle of about 45°
and extend the boom extensions. By measuring the stroke length of the lift cylinder,
observe for about 10 minutes that the boom does not lower by itself.
