14.2  Updating the software 

14.2.1 Main controller and display 

Updating can only be done via the web interface. Log in as described in section  

10.3.1 Start

. 

Click on Updates in the Tools menu area (also see 

10.3.6.4 Updates

). In order to update 

the main controller including the display, enter the file name and path in the input field and 
click "Load". Alternatively you can select the file by clicking the "Search..." button next to 
the input field. 
After clicking the "Load" button the message "the update is being transfer to the controller" 
appears. Wait until the update file is transferred and the AST40 has re-started. 
The update is completed when the main screen displays the Process Information. 

14.2.2 Power Unit 

Updating can only be done via the web interface. Log in as described in section  

10.3.1 Start

. 

Click on Updates in the Tools menu area (also see 

10.3.6.4 Updates

). In order to update 

the power unit, enter the file name and path in the input field and click "Load". Alternatively 
you can select the file by clicking the "Search..." button next to the input field. 
After clicking the "Load" button the message "The update is being uploaded to the 
controller" appears. Wait until the update file is transferred and the display shows the 
request to restart the controller. Switch off the AST40 sequence controller by the mains 
switch and switch it on after some seconds. 
The update is completed when the main screen displays the Process Information. 

14.2.3 Screwdriver Logic 

Updating can only be done via the web interface. Log in as described in section  

10.3.1 Start

. 

Click on Updates in the Tools menu area (also see 

10.3.6.4 Updates

). In order to update 

the screwdriver logic, enter the file name and path in the input field and click "Load". 
Alternatively you can select the file by clicking the "Search..." button next to the input field. 
After clicking the "Load" button the inscription "The update is being uploaded to the 
controller" appears. Wait until the update file is transferred and the display shows the 
request to restart the controller. Switch off the AST40 sequence controller by the mains 
switch and switch it on after some seconds. 
The update is completed when the main screen displays the Process Information.
