Technical assistance for hardware-related questions is available at no cost during the
life of the computer if support is provided using the E-support tool and Dell Resolution
Assistant. To access technical assistance, perform the following general steps. For
complete instructions, see Chapter 2, “Using Dell E-support.”
NOTE: Before using Assisted Service to contact Dell, you must be connected to your
Internet service provider (ISP). Press the Internet key on the keyboard. For more infor-
mation, click

in the E-support main screen.
1.
Press the E-support button on the front of your computer.
2.
When your personalized E-support main screen appears, click the illustration of
the component that you want to check.

Your computer runs the diagnostic tests to check for any problems. If the diag-
nostic tests find an issue and cannot resolve it, you are prompted to contact a
Dell support technician over the Internet. Follow the instructions on the screen.
If the diagnostic tests cannot find an issue, you are prompted to choose from a
list of frequently-asked questions (FAQ). If you cannot find an answer, you can
click the link to contact Dell for technical assistance. Dell support technicians are
available 24 hours a day via the E-support tool.
