If it is determined that your computer has a hardware problem that is covered under
the limited warranty in Appendix E, “WebPC Warranty, Return Policy, and Year 2000
Statement of Compliance,”perform the following steps to obtain warranty repair:
1.
Prepare all items to be returned for repair.
2.
Call Dell to obtain a Return Material Authorization number, and write it clearly and
prominently on the outside of the box.
For the telephone number to call to obtain your Return Material Authorization
number, see “Dell Contact Numbers” found later in this chapter.
3.
Dell will provide shipping instructions for returning the item(s) in their original or
equivalent packaging at Dell’s cost. You must follow the shipping instructions
provided by Dell in order for Dell to complete the warranty repair.
Returns that are missing any of the necessary items or do not comply with Dell’s ship-
ping and return instructions will be refused at our receiving dock and returned to you.

Call Dell to obtain a Credit Return Authorization number, and write it clearly and
prominently on the outside of the box.

2.
Include a copy of your original product invoice and a letter describing the reason
for the return.
3.
Include any accessories that were shipped with or otherwise belong with the
item(s) being returned (power cables, software diskettes, guides, and so on).
4.
Pack the equipment to be returned in the original (or equivalent) packing materi-
als, and apply the shipping label that was included with your computer system.
You are responsible for paying shipping expenses. You are also responsible for
insuring any product returned, and you assume the risk of loss during shipment
to Dell Computer Corporation. Collect-on-delivery (C.O.D.) packages are not
accepted.
Returns that are missing any of the necessary items or do not comply with Dell’s ship-
ping and return instructions will be refused at our receiving dock and returned to you.
