Default setting:
4:3 Pan Scan
You can setup your DVD Player to work with normal and
wide screen televisions.
By default, this option is set for normal TVs with 4:3
aspect ratio. Unless you're sure you have a
WIDESCREEN TV, do not change this setting. The 4:3
Letter Box setting is meant to enable the “Letterbox”
view on DVDs that contain both Letterbox and Pan/Scan
versions. Few DVDs support this feature, so this setting
is seldom used and will usually have no effect.
If you are using a wide screen TV, set this option to
16:9
to match the aspect ratio of your TV.

Default setting:
Interlace
Normal TVs scan only half the lines of an image in one
pass. This scanning method is known as "interlaced"
mode, because the odd and even lines are interlaced
together in alternate scans. Progressive Scan, set with
the Progressive option, is a scanning method offered on
high-end TVs. Progressive Scan TVs scan all the lines
of an image in one pass, creating a more film-like quality
to DVD movies.

and the Middle East, among other places.

model you have. Select AUTO to allow the recorder to
