Overview
The video and audio inputs on the Digital VCR card can accept signals coming from external
devices such as a VCR, digital camera, camcorder, or a DVD player. This enables you to use
these devices without the need for a standard television set.
The external video input appears as Channel 0 on the tuner. It can be selected using the same
methods used for selecting any other live video channel. The video input signal type (S-Video
or Composite) is selected in the Setup Wizard.
Connecting an S-Video Device
Connecting an external device requires two steps, connecting the hardware and choosing soft-
ware settings.
Connect the Hardware
To connect a video device that has an S-Video output, follow these steps:
1. Connect an S-Video cable from the video output of your device to the video input on your
Digital VCR card. You do not need the supplied adapter cable for this setup.
2. Connect the audio outputs from your device to the audio inputs on the Digital VCR card.
You may need an adapter cable to connect the RCA audio outputs found on most consumer
electronics devices to the Digital VCR card. Refer to area 1 in the diagram below.
