The Remote Control: Rewind (REW)

Rewind (REW)
Pressing the
5(:
button on the remote control will cause the program currently being viewed
to rewind; audio output is muted. Four rewind rates are available— 3x, 15x, 60x, and 300x.
Pressing
5(:
repeatedly will increase the rate with each press of the button. The current
rewind rate is displayed on screen.
To rewind by a specific amount of time, you can use the numeric keys to designate a length.
For example, typing “
” followed by a press of the
5(:
button will rewind the current program
by twelve minutes and begin playback from that point.

Fast Forward (FF)
When watching a recorded program, pressing

on the remote control will cause the program
to advance; audio output is muted during this operation. Four fast forward rates are available—
3x, 15x, 60x, and 300x. Pressing

repeatedly will increase speed with each button press.
The current rate is displayed on screen.
You can use the numeric keys to advance a program you are watching by a specific amount.
For example, typing “
” followed by a press of the

button will move playback of the current
program to the point fifteen minutes ahead of the current location. Playback will automatically
continue from this point. For larger numbers, you can enter them in exact minutes (up to 99
minutes), or hours and minutes (e.g. enter 7, 5, followed by the

or 1, 1, 5, followed by the

button to jump one hour and fifteen minutes).

Slow Motion Play
You can watch video in slow motion—either forward or in reverse—by using a combination of
the

) buttons. Multiple rates are available,
accessible by pressing the desired Forward (

) or Rewind (

) buttons repeatedly. An on-
screen display will indicate the current speed. Three slow motion rates are available (indicated
as 1/8x, 1/4x, and 1/2x).
To watch slow motion video:
1. Begin playback of a recorded program or switch to live TV.
2. Press the

4. Video will start slow motion playback at the first rate, 1/8x.
