Playing Exported Files
The MPEG-2 files exported from the File Exporter can be played on any Digital VCR system.
Files that have been exported from Digital VCR can be played directly from the archive media
in most cases.
Importing a Show
To play a file that is stored on an archive disk as MPEG-2 file involves importing it into Digital
VCR so that its title will appear on the Recorded Shows page. The Recorded Shows pages has
a special folder named Imported Shows that is used for holding and managing these files. This
page allows you to navigate the drives and folders on your PC to locate files to be imported.
Importing a show does not copy it to your hard drive. Instead, Digital VCR plays the file directly
from the archive disk. You can, however, make a permanent copy on a local disk. Steps for
saving a local copy of an imported file are given below.
To import a show saved as an MPEG-2 file:
