Overview
This section includes information about driver installation, performance settings, and Digital
VCR application installation.
About the CD-ROM
The CD-ROM supplied with your system contains the Digital VCR drivers, Installer application,
documentation, and a Setup Wizard. The Installer application will copy all necessary Digital
VCR application components onto your hard drive. The Setup Wizard will walk you through the
steps needed to get your Digital VCR up and running in no time.
Performance Settings
DMA
For optimal performance, check that your hard drive has the DMA option checked.
To check this setting if your PC is using Windows 98 and Windows ME:
1. From the desktop, right-click on

2. Select

to open the System Properties window.
3. Select the

4. In the Device Manager, make sure that the
9LHZGHYLFHVE\W\SH
radio button is
selected.
5. Locate the

item in the Device Manager list.
6. Click the plus sign (
) next to the
'LVN'ULYHV
item to expand it and show the contents.
7. Locate the entry for the hard drive that will be used for recording.
8. Double-click the drive’s name to display its Properties window. (If there is no specific list-
ing for your drive you can use Generic IDE Disk Type 00, the default setting.)
9. Select the

10. In the

section, confirm that

11. Click the

button to return to the Device Manager.
