• Aromatic/halogenated hydrocarbons.
Never clean parts with metal brushes, steel wool or other scrubbing tools. All parts must not be exposed to
temperatures above 60 °C (140 °F).
Reprocessing Water Characteristics
Sterile water rinse is recommended when available, although tap potable water is also acceptable for use in
cleaning COSMED components.
User Responsibility
• Carefully follow these instructions and the instructions provided with the reprocessing solutions.
• Observe any relevant local legal provisions, as well as any organizational hygiene requirements, in addition
to these instructions (e.g.: use of gloves, protective masks, etc…).
• Assign trained and competent individuals for the handling and reprocessing of the components.
• DO NOT submerge the device or pour cleaning liquids over or into the device.
To minimize the potential for infection and ensure optimal performance, make sure that:
• Device and re-processable parts are cleaned and disinfected prior the very first use.
• Disposable items are disposed of after every test.
• Parts showing defects on the material surfaces (cracks, brittleness) are disposed of.
• Standard personal protective (PPE) measures (hand hygiene, gloves, gown, mask, face shields) are taken
as necessary.
• Re-processable parts are reprocessed immediately after use.
Be sure that solutions for disinfection are:
• Applied thoroughly to all surfaces of the items to be disinfected.
• Used according to instructions and contact times recommended by the manufacturer.
• Always stored and prepared in clearly marked containers to prevent accidental use/misuse.
