Precautions/Contraindications
WARNING: • Canopy measurement shall only be performed under medical supervision.
•
Q-NRG shall NOT be placed onto a bed, to avoid the obstruction of the Canopy
blower exhaust port, positioned at the bottom of the device.
• DO NOT place the Canopy hood over the patient until the setup is complete,
and the blower is on.
• The operator supervising the test must ensure that patient is conscious and
awake during the entire procedure.
• Never leave the patient unattended with the Canopy hood applied.
• Carefully refer to “Chapter 6 - Troubleshooting” of this manual to understand
error messages or notifications which can be prompted during test execution.
Setting-Up Canopy
1. Place the single use veil over the Canopy hood according to the instructions printed on the veil packaging,
connect the Canopy hose and the antibacterial filter as shown.
2. Connect Canopy hose to “Canopy” port of Q-NRG.
3. Select or add a new patient and tap
Canopy
to start the test and activate the internal blower.
4. Carefully place the Canopy hood and veil over patient’s head avoiding air leaks around the veil and bed’s
surface.
5. Wait for the automatic calibration (1 min) and press
Start
when completed.
WARNING:
•
Never place Canopy hood over patient’s head when dilution blower is not
operating, or Canopy hose is disconnected.
• Immediately remove Canopy hood from patient’s head in case the blower is not
operating (e.g.: power or battery failure).
• Make sure patient is awake for the entire duration of the test.
• Adjust dilution flow to achieve a CO2 % (FeCO2) between 0.5% and 1.5%.
