Chapter 5 - Maintenance
COSMED srl
Overview
To keep Q-NRG clean, safe and efficient, it must be properly maintained as outlined in this chapter.
•
Any service operations not specified in this manual should only be performed by authorized personnel only
in accordance with the service manual.
•
All parts (except single use items) are not shipped cleaned and should be re-processed prior to first use
according to the related instructions in this section.
•
All materials used in the construction of device and its accessories are non-toxic and pose no safety risks to
the patient or user.
•
The device should be turned off with the power cable and calibration cylinder disconnected prior to
cleaning, disinfecting, maintaining, servicing and/or inspecting the device.
•
The device must not be serviced or maintained while in use with a patient.
•
Inspect all re-processable parts after each phase of cleaning and disinfection (pre-treatment, cleaning,
and disinfection). Closely examine for signs of corrosion, damaged surfaces, split-offs, discolorations, and
impurities and remove damaged parts.
•
If, after cleaning and disinfection, parts remain dirty, repeat cleaning and disinfection procedures.
•
Because some environments cause a quicker collection of lint and dust than others, inspect the fan filter
and replace it more often when needed.
•
Dispose of all parts removed from the device according to your institution’s protocol. Follow all local,
state, and federal regulations with respect to environmental protection, especially when disposing of the
electronic device or parts of it (for example, oxygen cell, pneumatic cartridge, batteries).
