Electrical installation
Cable requirements
External system channel
The cables for the external system channel to control panels and
repeater units must fulfil the following requirements:

2x2x0.5mm

Max allowed cable length is 1200 meter.
Detector loops
The loop cable must fulfil the following requirements. We refer to
current regulations for the rest of the specification.
Loop
: Min. 2 x 0.3 mm

Sub-loop
: Min. 2 x 0.3 mm

However, Consilium recommends using standard unshielded cable
min 2 x 0.75 mm

Loop lengths
The length of a loop or a sub-loop depends on the following three
parameters, type of cable, shielded or unshielded cable and power
consumtion. A cable is considered to be shielded if the shielded part of
the cable is more than 10% of the total length. Never exceed the
recommended cable lengths mentioned below.
The loop units are divided into three types, depending on their
individual load on the loop.
Type 1: Max capacity

All Salwico addressable analogue loop units not listed under “Type 2
or 3”
Type 2: Reduced capacity level 1
