Chapter 2: Installation
The different parts of the CS4000 fire alarm system, the central unit, the
control units, repeaters and the loop units, should first be mechanically
installed. The different loop units are thereafter electrically installed and
set up according to the definition of the loops. The cables must be tested
separately before the loops are connected to the central unit. This
eliminates any problem with the cable and the electrical installation of
the loop units. The installation is completed with the electrical
installation of the central unit and the control unit(s).
Mechanical installation
Install the central unit, the control units, repeaters and the loop units
according to the drawings. The control unit can be delivered installed in
the central unit or as a separate unit. Separate drawings are delivered
with the system.
Central units
The central and control unit, even the external control and repeater
units, are delivered in cabinets (IP22) for wall or console mounting.
Separate drawings are delivered with the system. The central units shall
be installed indoors in areas with 0- 80% RH non-condensing and
temperatures ranging from 0
°
C to 50
°
C.
Loop units
A loop unit is a unit that can be connected to a loop or a conventional
zone, i.e. detector, manual call point, address unit, timer etc.
The mechanical installation of the different types of loop and zone units
is described on the data sheets respectively.
