The VFD is an active display showing two lines of 24 characters each. It produces a blue light
with adjustable brightness.

On most menu screens, you will see a flashing, solid-block cursor that blinks at a once-per-
second rate. This indicates the currently selected item, digit, or field:

Where this solid block cursor obscures the item under edit (e.g., a numeric field), the cursor
automatically changes to an underline cursor:

To prevent the display from becoming burnt by a constant image, the unit employs a screen saver
feature that activates after a preset amount of time, or a default of one hour. This message
constantly scrolls and wraps across the screen. The top line displays the AID (the user-defined
name for the unit); the bottom line displays the message “
Press any key…”
as shown:
