Type “ ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ” at the Command-line prompt without quotes
(where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the Target Modem Traffic/Management IP Address).
The response should confirm whether the Target Modem is properly connected and
communicating.
3. Use Command-line to upload, via FTP, the Modem Configuration File to the Target
Modem:
•
Make sure that you are in the folder containing the Modem Configuration File
(config_file) created in Sect. Q.2.1.

Type "ftp xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" without quotes (where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the Target
Modem Traffic/Management IP Address).
If you are using a CDM-425 Advanced Satellite Modem and you
have installed and enabled the optional IP Packet Processor,
use of FTP is restricted to users with Administrator privileges.
You will be prompted to type in the Admin User Name and
Password (the default for both is “comtech”) before you can
continue. There are otherwise no restrictions on FTP
operations for CDM-425 Base Modem users.

Type " put config_file config: " without quotes at the Command-line ftp>
prompt, and then press the Enter key to begin the file upload. You will observe
the progress similar to this example:
200 Port OK
150 Opening data connection
226 Upgrade in progress. Do not reboot until upgrade
completes.
ftp: XXXX bytes sent in X.XXSeconds XXXXXXX.XXKbytes/sec.
ftp>

Type " bye " to terminate the FTP session, and then close the Command-line
window.
4. Re-define the Target Modem Traffic/Management IP Address.
When you upload the Modem Configuration File into the Target Modem, all configuration
parameters are “cloned” on the Target Modem – including the Source Modem defined
Traffic/Management IP Address.
To prevent any network operating conflicts, use one of the following methods to re-assign
the Traffic Modem Traffic/Management IP Address.
You will not be able to use the HTTP (Web Server) Interface until you
re-define the Target Modem Traffic/Management IP Address.
