An “empty” mask appears because the address of the keyboard
is 0 and that of the card is (for example) 1; the two devices
therefore cannot communicate. Disconnect the power supply
from the card (N.B.: the address set for the keyboard will not
be reset)

Set the keyboard address (see para 3.4.1): do not set it to zero
or to an address that is already used in the previously set card.
When the keyboard address is set, a blank mask appears.

Repeat the keyboard address setting procedure but this time
set the “I/O card address” field with the address number used
for the card. A mask similar to the one shown to the side will
appear.
