Step 7:
Step 8:
Route and terminate the single OLT-side fiber (red SC connector) from the PON splitter (identified as IN) to the
SC adapter plate.
Step 6:
IMPORTANT!
When routing optic fibers, be careful to avoid bending fibers beyond the manufacturer
recommended 1 inch (2.54 cm) bend radius. Exceeding the bend radius can cause excess attenuation and
possibly break the fiber.
Route and terminate the (2, 16 or 32) PON-side fibers from the splitter to the fiber staging plate (EXM shown
below).
Route each PON-side fiber from the staging plate to the appropriate position on the fiber assembly and ter
-
minate the fiber. Begin with the lower right assembly, and then proceed to the lower left assembly, populating
each assembly in sequence with the top left assembly populated last.
Note:
For a fully populated enclosure supporting 576 subscriber drops (without an internal battery box), you
must route the fibers from the bottom right assembly only to the right and then up the side of the equipment rail
and along the notch located on the right side of the fiber ramp. The 51-inch fiber pigtails are not long enough to
reach the bottom right assembly for a fully populated configuration.
