Section 1: Introduction
D.1 The GPIO Port
The 37-pin GPIO connector is located on the
Source and Communication Panel
located on the underside of the
projection head near the front. It provides a flexible method of interfacing a wide range of external I/O devices
to the projector, often so that an event on one device automatically triggers an event on the other. The pins on
this connector that are configurable using the TPC’s
Custom 3D Control
menu are identified in
Figure D-1
.
NOTES:
1)
Pins not shown in
Figure D-1
are reserved for other uses, and cannot be specified at the TPC.
2)
Cable access is through the pedestal “toe” at front.
As shown above, each available pairing of pins (+/–) is defined as either an
input
or
output
.
If you are wiring your own GPIO cable for use with a server or 3D device such as an IR emitter or a polarizer,
follow the circuit diagram in
Figure D-2
.
D.1.1 Example: GPIO and 3D Device
1. Assemble a cable according to guidelines shown in
Figure D-1
and
Figure D-2
.
2. Connect the cable to projector’s GPIO port and to your 3D device.
3. In the TPC’s
Custom 3D Control
menu, set
Output GPO
according to the pins wired in the GPIO cable
(see
Figure D-1
). For instance, if you have wired pins #10 (+) and #29 (-) to your 3D device, set
Output
GPO
to GPO #2.
