They contain important information relating to:

the safety of persons charged with operating or performing maintenance on the unit;
–
the safety and efficiency of the unit itself;
–
the quality of the end-product.
It is prohibited for anyone to utilise the unit if there are any doubts regarding the proper interpretation of
the operating instructions. Contact the manufacturer or the service centre in order to get the necessary
clarification.
Terminology used in the Operation and Maintenance Manual
–
OPERATOR
: the person charged with operating, making any adjustments, performing any normal
maintenance or cleaning the unit within the scope of his/her assigned tasks.
–
QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN
: the specialised person employed by the Manufacturer or an authorised service
centre who is specifically trained and authorised to carry out any special maintenance tasks (of an
electrical or mechanical nature) or repairs requiring a special knowledge of the unit, its operation and its
safety features.
The manual that follows specifies the tasks, skills and operational limitations applicable to each of the
various operators.
OPERATORS MUST NOT ATTEMPT TO PERFORM ANY OPERATIONS THAT ARE LIMITED TO MAINTENANCE
TECHNICIANS OR QUALIFIED TECHNICIANS. THE MANUFACTURER SHALL NOT ACCEPT LIABILITY FOR ANY
DAMAGES RESULTING FROM FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS CONDITION.
In order to be able to understand the instructions (both the text and the illustrations), unit operators must
already have (or acquire by means of appropriate training) the following minimum requirements:
–
a sufficient level of general and technical knowledge to enable them to read and properly understand
the parts of this manual that apply to them and to properly interpret the drawings and charts;
–
the ability to understand and interpret the symbols and safety pictograms;
–
knowledge of the main hygiene, safety and accident prevention regulations;
–
knowledge of what to do in the event of an emergency, including where to find any necessary
personal protective equipment (PPE) and how to use the equipment properly when necessary.
In addition to the above requirements, maintenance technicians should also have a good technical
training background including a professional qualification diploma and/or sufficient work experience in
their specific field.
