82 Instrument and control device
Brake system fault warning
lamp/EBD warning lamp
Brake system warning lamp will be
lighted up after switching on the
ignition switch and starting the engine.
It indicates that the indicator works
normally, and the indicator will be off
by releasing the park brake after
starting the engine.
Brake system warning lamp will also
be lighted up when the park brake is
engaged. Indicator will be off after
releasing the park brake. Be sure to
release the park brake before the
startup of vehicle is complete.
If brake system warning lamp is lighted
up when park brake is fully released, it
indicates that brake fluid level of the fluid
reservoir is too low or EBD system (if
equipped) has fault.
For this, the following steps should be
carried out:
1.
Carefully drive the vehicle off the
lane and park.
2.
Inspect brake fluid level.
3.
Add the recommended brake fluid
to MAX mark. Refer to “Addition of
Brake / Clutch Fluid”.
4.
Under
the
following
circumstances, drive the vehicle at
safe
speed
to
the
nearest
Authorized Workshop to inspect
the brake and confirm that:
The brake works normally.
You judge that the brake system of
the vehicle is safe.
You find out that the brake system
leaks.
5.
Under
the
following
circumstances, it is suggested to
trail the vehicle to the nearest
Authorized
Workshop
for
inspection and repair:
Brake system warning lamp is
lighted up continuously.
The brake works abnormally.
Caution
Don’t drive the vehicle when
the brake system warning
lamp is lighted up. The
phenomenon may indicate
that
your
brake
works
abnormally.
Collision
accident
may
happen if drive when the
brake has fault, thus causing
personal injury and damage
to your vehicle or other
property.
