6.2. Instruments on assistant’s board
All the instruments provided on the assistant’s board operate in the same
manner as those on the instrument board.
More specifi cally:
• Syringe, see paragraph 5.3
• Turbine, see paragraph 5.4
• Scaler, see paragraph 5.6
• LEDA curing light, see paragraph 5.7
• C-U2 camera, see paragraph 5.8
NOTE: the turbine and scaler are equipped with cock [ f ] to adjust
the water spray found under the assistant’s board. The amount of air spray
cannot be adjusted in the turbine.
6.3. Suction
tubes
To adjust the suction power, use the slider
[ a ]
located on the tube han-
dpiece.
The SKEMA 6 comes with the V.D.S. system that allows the suction line to
be dried using an automatic stop delay (about 2 seconds).
Removing the suction tubes
ATTENTION!
Always wear gloves to prevent contact with infected material When
removing the suction tubes.
Remove the suction tubes from the conveyor fi ttings by turning and twisting
the tube fi tting. Detach the suction tubes from the holders by turning and
twisting the tube fi tting.
ATTENTION!
Never directly grasp the suction tube.
Cleaning the suction tubes.
The suction tubes need to be regularly cleaned and disinfected (see para-
graph 9.4). Use a product specially designed for this purpose.
ATTENTION!
Use only a diluted solution of STER 3 PLUS (Castellini) as a liquid
disinfectant. As concerns the amount of disinfectant and percentage
of solution follow the instructions provided with the product.
Sterilization
.
• Suction tube holders: water steam autoclave up to 135°C (2 bar), minimum
time: 15 min.
• Suction tubes: soak to cold sterilize.
ATTENTION!
Never use procedures in which the temperature goes over 55 °C with
the tubes.
Maintenance
Periodically lubricate the o-rings of the suction tube holders with S1 – Pro-
tection for o-rings lubricant (see paragraph 9.4).
Note about biocompatibility
Only suction tubes supplied with the dental unit and there after original
replacement tubes can be used. The suction tubes must comply to the
standard ISO 10993-1 Biological evaluation of medical devices.
