7 - MAINTENANCE
Transmission filter
Replace the transmission filter after the first 100 hours on a new machine or if a major component has been rebuilt.
1. Park the machine on level ground, raise the loader
arms, engage the safety support strut, and shut down
engine.
2. Clean the area around the transmission dipstick (lo-
cated on the left-hand side) and remove the dipstick.

3. Clean the area around the transmission filter head.
Clean the surrounding areas to help eliminate con-
tamination. The filter is on the right-hand side, be-
tween the chassis and the transmission.
4. Place a suitable container under the transmission fil-
ter to capture fluid during the procedure.
5. Remove the filter. Use a filter removal tool, if neces-
sary.

6. Dispose of the filter and collected fluid in accordance
with local, regional, and federal regulations.
7. Lubricate the gasket of the new filter with clean oil.
NOTICE: Never use a filter removal tool to install the filter.
8. Install the new filter and turn clockwise until the gas-
ket contacts the head of the filter assembly.
9. Continue to tighten the filter another 1/3 turn.
10. Replace the transmission dipstick.
11. Start up the engine.
12. Check for leaks around the filter
13. Operate the machine in 1st and 2nd gear for a few
minutes.
14. Park the machine on a level surface, raise the loader
arms, engage the safety support strut, and shut down
the engine.
